I first met Koma Zuru in Milan Italy in 1979 in front of the Astoria Night Club in Milan Italy. Koma noticed my American car which had an OHIO license plate. He asked me if I spoke english.... I said yes.... and he talked for hours. His Italian was pretty bad and he was starved for company as he had been touring in Italy for many months. We became life long friends.

I saw Koma Zuru work many times, all over the world. I had the pleasure to see him appear as a special guest artist with the "Big Apple Circus" at Lincoln Center in New York City. It was Christmas time and the audience was packed full of theater going New Yorkers. Koma Zuru STUNNED the audience. They had never seen anything like him. I was sitting ringside and watched his act unfurl. The audience went wild and stood in applause for 3 minutes at his conclusion. It was the most electrifying public performances I have ever seen!
